The Management of rooms and equipment Service and the Decentralised IT Unit are two services attached to the Faculty of Science whose missions may extend to other faculties.

Management of rooms and equipment service

Generally speaking the management of rooms and equipment service is dedicated to the management of teaching rooms (seminar rooms, small lecture halls in B7b, large lecture halls in B7b, the ‘amphithéâtres de l'Europe’ in B4) as well as buildings B4, B6 and B7.

It is also the management of rooms and equipment service which co-ordinates the software for reserving and using seminar rooms and lecture halls for the whole of the Institution.

The management of rooms and equipment service provides support for audio-video equipment in seminar rooms and lecture halls, as well as for repairing and maintaining the various materials used (microphones, videodata, etc.). It is also called upon to provide advice and suggestions in terms of audio-visual technologies when seminar rooms and lecture halls, as well the Institution’s ceremonial and general public events.

The Decentralised IT Unit - UNIPC

The Faculty of Sciences Decentralised IT Unit is responsible for running the information equipment installed within numerous buildings situated on the Sart Tilman campus (B5, B6, B7, B11, B12, B15, B16, B18, B19, B20, B30, B22, B38, B40), on the Arlon campus (BE-009, BE-011, BE-013, BE-014), as well as those in the town centre (I1, L1, L3, L4, I. Frédéric).

The Decentralised IT Unit’s missions are essentially the following:

  • Theft insurance for computer material with the Ethias company
  • Activation – transfer of ‘network’ outlets
  • Requests to access the SEGI printers
  • Requests for intervention
  • ULiège Network
  • Security
  • Software licences
  • Managing public rooms
  • Etc.
